Nature Study Outing - Picnic at the Creek

Last week we visited one of our favorite spots for a picnic breakfast and a nature walk.






We found two new-to-us wildflowers:

Tall flatsedge

Bull thistle in bloom
 The usual mallard group was missing from the pond that morning, but we found plenty of tadpoles to watch.


And the highlight of the day: building a playhouse under the oaks with sticks and stumps.

    Hi Celeste,
    I have enjoyed your nature entries this summer! It looks like you all had a fun walk along the creek. Your nature outings are inspiring me to get my boys out and going :-)
